The Cost of Textbooks Alone Can Put You In Debt!
Studies say that the average student spends over $1,200 a year on textbooks! A single textbook can easily cost $300 (or more)! Well, I refuse to pay that. As a matter of fact, I spent less than the average cost of ONE textbook on ALL of his books for my son's entire college career. With so many great resources available to you, don't ever pay more than you have to. Instead use that money for something fun...like pizza!
Below is a list of various places you can check to get the very best price for the book you need:
First check the library! (It's free!!)
See if you can borrow a book
Try used bookstores or booksales
Craig's list or EBay
Book swaps or Book rentals
Here are quite a few sites that may help:
Campus Book Rentals
Online Library of Liberty
MIT open Courseware
Flat World Knowledge
Online Mathematics textbooks
Free Digital Textbook Initiative
Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources
College Open Textbook Collaborative
The Global Text Project
The Book Rocket
If you want to know how I was able to keep my textbook costs down to the cost of under about $100, read about it in my EBook "College Out of the Box" available on Amazon!
